Tomato Day is when Italians all around the world get together with their families to make, bottle and preserve vine-ripened tomato sauce to stock up for the year. Our Romas are ready and we need your help!
10:00 – 2:00 Passata Processing
FREE. LIMITED TO 10 PARTICIPANTS (AGES 8+)
Passata is an uncooked, strained, tomato puree with a little salt and basil. We’re doing it the good old fashioned way – outside in large batches – with help from our friends, the Dannetta family. It’s a labour intensive process to harvest, clean, prep, boil, press and bottle so we’ll need you to commit at least 2 hours. In return, you’ll get wood-fired Margherita pizza for lunch and a bottle of sauce to take home and a great day on the farm!

Presented by Megan Webster of Victory Canning

Learn the lost art of healthy food preservation. Master canner Megan will guide you through techniques for preserving tomatoes safely and share her recipe for Garden Salsa. Pick, chop, season and can. Timing allows you to take a break and join the outdoor processing activity. Price includes our wood-fired
