Sourdough Basics with Chef Elaina Asselin

Good bread is magical. Hearth baked, sour dough with a crisp crust and tangy crumb – artisan bread is the staff of life. Elaina Asselin will show you how to create beautiful tasting sourdough breads at home. This workshop will be 3-4 hours in length. You will learn to knead (muscles required), shape (delicately) and bake off doughs in various ways. You will take home your own dough to finish baking the following day. Fermented sourdough breads take time and love to create. If you are a semi-experienced bread baker, have an interest in creating breads without using commercial yeast, love getting your hands floury, this workshop is for you.

A short bio – Elaina Asselin spent sixteen years in the restaurant industry as a chef and baker. Twelve years ago, she and her husband started Wicklow Way certified organic farm. To indulge her passion for bread, Gregory built her a wood-fired oven where she bakes sourdough artisan breads each week for three of their Saturday farmers’ markets.

Price: $70 

A minimum of 8 required for this workshop.
